Founded in 1974, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to sheltering and caring for abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals in Skagit County. Our mission is to treat every animal with dignity, find them loving homes, and educate the public on humane treatment and the importance of spaying and neutering.
We are an open-admission shelter—not county-run—and accept all companion animals, including those with medical needs. While we hold contracts with local governments, our operations are funded by generous donations, fundraising, and the dedication of our volunteers.
We also provide emergency housing for small animals during disasters, ensuring safety when it’s needed most.
