This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you:

  • Interact with the Website www.theasherhouse.com (our “Website”).
  • Inquire about or participate in events we conduct, including promotions, donation campaigns, fundraisers, and surveys (each an “Event” and collectively, our “Events”).

This Policy does not cover information collected by third parties.  For example, if you click on a link on our Website that takes you to another site (such as on our car donation page), any data collected on that third-party site is not covered by this Policy unless explicitly mentioned.  The information we collect is governed by this Policy, while the information collected by the third party is subject to their privacy practices.  Privacy choices you make on a third-party site or platform will not apply to our use of the information we have collected.  We are not responsible for third parties’ privacy practices and encourage you to be aware when you leave our Website and to read the privacy policies of other sites that may collect your information.

We may provide additional data privacy notices specific to certain practices or regions.  Those terms are to be read in conjunction with this Policy.  This Policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy).  Your continued interaction with our Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check this Policy periodically for updates.

Children Under the Age of 18

Our Website is not intended for children under 18 years of age.  No one under age 18 is permitted to provide any information to our Website.  We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.  If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on our Website.  Do not, through any of its features, make any purchases or donations through our Website, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or username you may use.  If we learn we have collected or received personally identifiable information from a child under 18, we will delete that information.  If you believe we might have any personally identifiable information from or about a child under 18, please contact us by email at privacy@theasherhouse.com.

Types of Information We Collect

We collect two basic types of information:

  • Information that identifies (whether directly or indirectly) a particular individual, such as your name, postal address, and email address (“Personal Information”); and
  • Information that does not directly or indirectly identify, and cannot reasonably be used to identify, an individual (“Anonymous Information”).  When Anonymous Information is directly or indirectly associated with Personal Information, the resulting information is also treated as Personal Information.

We may use Personal Information and Anonymous Information to create a third type of information: information about groups or categories of individuals, which does not identify and cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual (“Aggregate Information”).

In particular, we collect the following categories of data:

  • Contact information you provide when you request information, sign-up for our newsletter, participate in an Event with us, or otherwise contact us, such as your name, email address, and address of residency.
  • Transaction information you provide when you request information, contact us, purchase, request, or exchange a product from us, or donate to us, such as your name, email address, address of residency, and payment information.
  • Activity, usage, viewing, technical, and device data when you visit our Website or open emails we send.  This includes the content you view, how often you use our Website, and your IP address.  We may obtain this information from a third party, such as a site or platform provider.
  • Copies of your Communications, including when you email our customer service mailboxes.

How We Collect Your Information

We may collect information from you in the following ways:

  • Directly From You. We collect information you provide to us when you request or purchase goods or information from us, donate to us, respond to surveys, email our customer service mailboxes, or otherwise interact with us using one or more devices.  You may provide information in a variety of ways, including by typing or using voice commands.
  • Through Automatic Technologies. We collect information through a variety of technologies, such as cookies, click tracking and analytics tools, including when you visit our Website.  Please see Automatic Technologies We Use for further information and You Controls and Choices for how to make choices with respect to such data collection.
  • From Third Parties Service Providers. We acquire information from other third parties to update or supplement the information you provided, or we collected automatically.  Applicable law may require that you authorize the third party to share you information with us before we can acquire it.

Automatic Technologies We Use

The technologies we use to automatically collect your information when you interact with our Website include:

  • Click Tracking. Click tracking is an analytical feature that measures and reports where users click or tap on our Website.  Every time you click on our Website, we record the event and log your user session for future analysis.  We use this information only to improve our Services.  Click tracking only collects the IP address assigned to you on the date when you visit our Website, rather than your name or other identifying information.
  • Analytics. We collect analytics information from our web server and Shopify Analytics.  This includes information such as how many users visit our Website, what pages they visit when they do so, and IP addresses.  We use the information we get from analytics tools only to improve our Services, and do not combine the information collected with Personal Information.

We use the following third-party tracking tools in connection with our Website:

  • Keela. Keela is a customer relationship management platform that is integrated with our Website.  Keela collects and analyzes donor data, automates tax receipts, and facilitates donation campaign communication.  We do not control Keela’s tracking technologies or how Keela may use the data it collects.  Keela’s ability to use and share information gathered through its services is restricted by Keela’s Terms of Service and Keela’s Privacy Policy.  If you have any questions about how Keela uses your information, please contact Keela directly.  For details on how to opt out of Keela’s tracking, see Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information.
  • Raisely. Raisely is a fundraising platform integrated with our Website.  Raisely collects and processes donor and campaign data, supports secure donation processing, and enables data-driven campaign management.  We do not control Raisely’s tracking technologies or how Raisely may use the data it collects.  Raisely’s use, storage, and disclosure of information are governed by Raisely’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which include provisions to protect personal information and outline user rights such as data deletion.  If you have any questions about Raisely’s data practices, please contact Raisely directly.  To understand your rights or opt out of certain data collection, refer to Raisely’s Privacy Policy and Raisely’s Terms of Use.
  • Google Analytics. Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit our Website.  The cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google.  We do not control Google’s tracking technologies or how Google may use them.  Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to our Website is restricted by Google Analytics’ Terms of Use and Google’s Privacy Policy.  If you have any questions about how Google Analytics uses your information, please contract Google directly.  For more information on how to opt-out of Google Analytics, see Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information.

Exercising Your Oregon Privacy Rights

  • Making Requests to Know, Access, Delete, or Correct Your Personal Information.  To exercise your opt-out rights or your rights to know, access, delete, or correct your personal information, please submit a request by email to privacy@theasherhouse.com.  Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a request related to your personal information.  We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.  We will only use personal information provided in a request to review and comply with the request.  You do not need to create an account with us to submit a request to know or delete.  We endeavor to substantively respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt.  If we require more time (up to another 45 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.  We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.  If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.  We will delete or de-identify personal information not subject to a legal exception from our records and will direct our service providers to take similar action.  For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.
  • Instructions for Using an Authorized Agent to Make Requests: You may use an authorized agent to submit a request to know, or an access, deletion, correction, or opt-out request on your behalf.  An authorized agent must have your signed permission to submit a request on your behalf or provide proof that they have power of attorney in accordance with applicable law.  Before completing requests from authorized agents, we may contact you directly to confirm you’ve given your permission and/or to verify your identity.  Authorized agents may submit requests by email at privacy@theasherhouse.com.
