Meet Ace - The Deaf-initely Awesome Adventure King!
I’ll be two years old in a few months and I'm thought to be an Australian Cattle Dog and Pit Bull Terrier mix, weighing in at 46 lbs of pure love, zoomies, and main-character energy. I’m a super sweet guy who lives for affection. If you’ve got hands, I’m ready for pets.
Now let’s address the elephant in the room...I’m deaf. But honestly, that just makes me cooler. No scary thunderstorms, no loud noises, no drama. Just vibes. I’m an active boy through and through. Adventures, walks, exploring, I’m all in. If you’re looking for a dog who’s down to get out and do things, I’m your guy.
When it comes to other dogs, I’m a friendly dude, but first impressions matter. I do best with dogs who are social and easygoing when we meet. If a dog comes in too reactive or intense, I don’t really know what to do with that energy, especially since I can’t hear them. But give me a fun, playful friend and I’m all in.
Cats are still a mystery to me. I’ve never met one, so slow and proper introductions would be the way to go. Keeping things calm and respectful will set everyone up for success.
As for kids, I’d do best in a home with kids 7 and older who understand that I’m deaf. That means no sneaking up on me and giving me space when I need it. In return, I’ll give you all the love, loyalty, and goofy moments you could ever want.
I’m looking for a home that understands me, wants an active, and loving companion. Someone who is patient, consistent, and ready to build a strong bond with me. I may not hear your voice but I’ll see you, trust you, and love you with everything I’ve got!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped!
Hi, I'm Baz. Quiet courage looks a lot like learning to trust the world one small step at a time. I am a seven year old guy who had a rough start in life, and because of that, I move slowly with new people. I am not the run up and kiss your face type. I am the watch you quietly, decide you seem safe, and then gradually let my guard down kind of dog. And when I choose to trust you, it truly means something.
I need a person who understands dog behavior and believes that patience is not a weakness but a gift. Giving me space, allowing me to make choices, and letting trust grow at my pace is how you win my heart. Once I feel safe, I am incredibly smart and enjoy continuing my training using positive reinforcement. Learning together builds my confidence and strengthens our bond. And I do bond strong.
Because I am a small guy at just 30 pounds, it is especially important that I am treated with the same respect you would give a larger dog. Sometimes people pick up little dogs without warning, crowd them, or push past their comfort level in ways they would never do with a big dog. I need a family who understands that my size does not mean I am automatically comfortable with everything. I deserve the same boundaries, consideration, and thoughtful handling as any dog.
I am crate trained and find real comfort in routine. One of my favorite things in the world is curling up in my blankets and enjoying quiet time. Those peaceful moments are where I feel most secure.
I would do best in a home with a single adult, low traffic home, who understands boundaries and can respect my need for space. I do best as the only pet and would be happiest in a home without other dogs or cats.
If you are someone who finds joy in small victories, believes in meeting dogs where they are, and wants to be the person who shows a gentle soul that life can be safe and kind, then I might just be your match.
I weigh 30 pounds and my adoption fee is $295 and I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Some dogs are naturally easygoing with everyone they meet. Bear is not that dog—and that’s exactly what makes him so special.
Bear is a 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier, weighing about 55 lbs. of loyalty, sensitivity, and deep devotion to his person. He forms strong, meaningful bonds and is incredibly protective of the people he trusts.
Because of this, Bear is looking for a very specific kind of home. He would do best with a single woman or a couple in a calm, low-traffic environment where he doesn’t have to constantly meet new people. New faces can be overwhelming for him, and he needs about five days to truly settle in and build trust. But once he does, his loyalty runs deep—and it’s something really special.
Bear’s story has shaped who he is. He previously lived on the streets and experienced instability, which means he approaches the world with caution. He may be wary at first, but he is not without heart—he just needs someone who understands that trust is earned over time, not given immediately.
With other dogs, Bear is actually very respectful and submissive. He’s dog-friendly and does well with calm, balanced companions, though large or chaotic pack environments can be overwhelming for him. He thrives best in a more structured and predictable setting.
Bear is housebroken and does well with routine. He would do best in a home without children or cats, where his boundaries are understood and respected.
What Bear needs most is someone patient, experienced, and willing to meet him where he is. Someone who sees past his initial hesitation and is willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. In return, you’ll gain a deeply loyal, protective companion who will be by your side through everything.
Bear isn’t for everyone—but for the right person, he’s everything.
His adoption fee is $295 and he is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Biscuit is an 8 year old English Bulldog / American Bully mix with the biggest heart and the sweetest soul you could ever hope to meet. If you’re looking for a best friend whose love runs deep and constant, Biscuit is your girl.
This sweet senior lives for her people. Her favorite things? Cuddling on the couch, soaking up belly rubs, and simply being by your side. Whether you’re watching your favorite shows or enjoying a quiet night in, Biscuit will be right there, snuggled up and content. And don’t let her age fool you—she still has a little puppy spark and enjoys leisurely walks and adventures, too.
Biscuit would thrive as the center of attention in her home. She can be selective with other dogs, but she has done well with some and is open to proper introductions if you already have a pup. That said, if you’re looking for a one-and-only companion, Biscuit will happily fill that role and give you her whole heart.
She loves everyone she meets and will do wonderfully with a family who wants a gentle, affectionate, and loyal companion—including families with kids.
Biscuit is healthy and feeling great. She does have a cherry eye that does not cause her pain or discomfort, and The Asher House will cover the cost of her surgery—it’s a simple procedure.
Biscuit is truly something special. She’s the kind of dog who will change your life with her love.
If your heart is calling you toward her, don’t wait—Apply to meet Biscuit today.
They truly don’t come any sweeter.
Her adoption fee is $295 and she is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Howdy, partner. The name’s Boone, and yes, I am as adventurous as my name suggests.
I’m a 2 year old, 80 lb Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart full of zoomies, a nose built for adventure, and enough personality to keep life interesting every single day. If there’s an adventure happening nearby, I would like to be involved immediately.
Don’t let my explorer status fool you because I’m also affectionate. I absolutely love my people. Getting pets, leaning dramatically into your legs for attention, and being told I’m handsome are some of my favorite hobbies.
After a day of important adventuring business, I’m more than happy to hang out with my humans and soak up all the love I can get.
I’m an active boy who would thrive with a family that enjoys getting out and doing things with me. I’ve got that classic Catahoula energy where life is simply more exciting when you’re moving. Honestly, if I could create my dream schedule, it would probably include adventures during the day and cuddle sessions at night.
The good news? I also do great with other dogs. Having dog friends is pretty awesome because we can run around together, exchange sniffing information, and discuss extremely important neighborhood business. As for cats, we don’t know my history with them yet.
I would do best with kids over the age of 7 who understand that even goofy adventure boys like me sometimes need a little space to relax and decompress. I’m a very sweet dog, but I appreciate people who respect my boundaries and understand dog body language.
Basically, if you’ve been looking for a hilarious, affectionate, adventure-loving sidekick who will make every day feel a little more fun, I might just be your guy. I’ll bring the personality, the zoomies, and the unconditional love, you just bring the leash and maybe a few snacks!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
An almost 5-year old German Shepherd, weighing 60 lbs. of intelligence, loyalty, and quiet confidence. I’m the kind of dog who pays attention to everything, reads situations well, and responds best when there is clear communication and mutual understanding.
With my people, I am deeply affectionate and loyal. I form strong bonds and truly enjoy being close to those I trust. Once you are part of my circle, you will have a companion who is attentive, devoted, and always tuned in to you.
With new people, I can be a bit more reserved. I take my time getting comfortable and prefer not to be approached too quickly. I am currently working on this with continued training and improving steadily. I do best with someone who understands how to advocate for me and can step in when I need space. When I am given the time and respect to warm up, I settle in well.
I am highly intelligent and very responsive. I have excellent recall and take direction well, especially when expectations are clear and consistent. I enjoy working, learning, and having structure in my day. With other dogs, I am well-balanced. I can be playful and social, but I also know how to regulate myself and settle when needed. I appreciate dogs who are respectful and can match my energy appropriately.
I love my toys and enjoy a good game of fetch. It is one of my favorite ways to stay active and engaged, and I can happily play while still maintaining control and focus.
Cats are not a good match for me.
I would do best in an adult-only home where my boundaries are understood and respected. I thrive in an environment where there is calm leadership, clear communication, and consistency.
I am not just an active dog, I am a thinking dog. I am looking for someone who appreciates that, someone who values connection, structure, and trust. In return, I will give you unwavering loyalty, intelligence, and a partnership that is truly special!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Hey there, I’m Bruce. Yes, that Bruce. Strong name, handsome face, athlete-level zoomies, it all checks out.
I’m a 3 year old, 80 lb. Catahoula Leopard Dog mix looking for a family that’s ready for adventure, laughter, and a little bit of lovable chaos.
I’m the kind of dog who wakes up every day ready to seize the moment. Hiking, long walks, exploring every single smell on planet Earth like I’m solving an important mystery, that’s basically my full-time job. I’m an active guy who loves being out and about with my people.
Now, while I may look rugged and adventurous, I’m actually a giant softie underneath all this good looks energy. I love affection from my humans. Pets are wonderful. Belly rubs are incredible. Being dramatically told I’m the most handsome boy ever created is necessary for my emotional wellbeing, honestly.
I also do great with other dogs. Having dog friends is awesome because we can play together, run around, and bark at absolutely nothing as a team. As for cats, your guess is as good as mine. I’ve never really shared my superhero headquarters with them before.
Now listen, every hero has their training arc, okay. I’m still learning some manners, so I’ll need a family committed to continuing my positive reinforcement training. I’m a smart boy and eager to learn, but sometimes my enthusiasm for life gets a little bigger than my brain for a moment.
Because of that, I’d do best with kids over the age of 9 who understand dog boundaries and can give me space when I need to decompress. I’m a sweet boy, but I’ll thrive most with a family that understands structure, consistency, and helping me continue building confidence and good decision-making skills.
At the end of the day, I’m basically the perfect mix of adventurous hiking buddy, goofy comedian, affectionate cuddle bug, and slightly chaotic wilderness explorer. If you’ve been searching for a loyal sidekick with spots, personality, and enough love to fill an entire Batcave, I’m your guy!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Burger, yes, that Burger. Extra shy, hold the chaos, add a side of patience. I know, iconic name. You’d think I’d be bold and larger than life, but I’m actually more of a quiet, soft, “please don’t rush me” kind of guy.
I’m an almost 3 year old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing in at 54 lbs. of gentle soul, nervous wiggles, and hidden sweetness. I’m not the kind of dog who runs up to strangers like we’ve been best friends forever. I take my time. A lot of time. But here’s the thing, once I trust you, you’re in. At The Asher House, I have a few favorite humans, and let me tell you, I didn’t just hand out that title easily. They earned it. Slowly. Respectfully. With patience. That’s the kind of relationship I’m looking for.
My future family needs to understand that I’m not broken, I’m just cautious. I need space, time, and people who won’t rush me. No pressure, no expectations, just quiet support while I figure things out at my own pace.
Now let’s talk about my secret ingredient, other dogs. I'm great with them. Like, they’re my confidence boosters. When I have a dog friend around, I start to come out of my shell a little more. It’s like having a built-in emotional support buddy who speaks my language. If you’ve got a friendly dog at home, that’s basically my dream setup.
Also, fun fact, I lived in a foster home with bunnies. Yes. Bunnies. And I did great with them. I was respectful, calm, and didn’t turn into a chaotic mess. Because of that, there’s a good chance I could do well with cats too, though we haven’t officially tested that yet. But hey, I’ve already passed the bunny test, which feels pretty impressive.
As for kids, I’d do best in a home with older kids, around 12 and up, who understand that I’m very shy and need space.
At the end of the day, I’m not the loudest dog in the room. I’m not the one doing backflips for attention. I’m the quiet one in the corner, waiting for someone to see me, really see me, and give me the time I need to become the best version of myself!
If your dream dog is a couch companion with a giant head, a goofy grin, and an endless supply of love to give, then Buster may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.
Buster is a 3-year-old American Bully weighing about 60 pounds. He’s short, stocky, incredibly strong, and somehow managed to fit an extra-large head onto a medium-sized body. His appearance might make him look tough, but beneath those muscles is a sweet, affectionate dog whose favorite things in life are belly rubs, cuddles, kisses, and being close to his people.
After spending the last three months at the sanctuary, we’ve gotten to know Buster well. He is housebroken, kennel trained, knows some tricks, and has proven himself to be an incredibly loving companion. While he enjoys his daily walks and exercise, he’s not looking for a high-energy lifestyle. What Buster truly wants is a calm home, a comfortable couch, and someone who will shower him with affection.
Buster thrives when life is predictable and low stress. He does best in environments without a lot of chaos or constant excitement. When he’s relaxed and comfortable, he’s an easygoing, happy dog who is a joy to be around.
Buster has successfully interacted with many dogs at the sanctuary, but we’ve noticed that he can become uncomfortable around larger male dogs, particularly when energy levels are high and the environment becomes overstimulating. He generally prefers female dogs and has shown a particular fondness for smaller dogs. Because of this, we believe Buster’s ideal home would either be as the only dog or with a compatible female dog after proper introductions.
He does well with cats and would be best suited for a home with children 15 years and older who can respect his space and help maintain the calm environment where he thrives.
Previous experience with American Bullies or other bully breeds would be a huge plus, but what’s most important is finding someone who understands the value of structure, routine, and keeping life simple for a dog like Buster.
The secret to Buster’s success isn’t complicated: daily walks, a peaceful home, lots of affection, and people who appreciate him for the loving, loyal dog he is. Give him those things, and he’ll reward you with unwavering companionship and enough cuddles to last a lifetime.
More than anything, Buster wants to be someone’s best friend.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who would rather spend his evening snuggled next to you than causing trouble, Buster is the dog for you!
Buster's adoption fee is $295 and he's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Howdy there, I’m Chuckles. I’m a 4 year old, 80 lb. Mastiff mix with a big heart, a bigger frame, and a personality that just needs a minute to shine. I can be a little nervous when I first meet new people or find myself in new situations. I like to take things in slowly at first, make sure everything feels safe, and confirm you are not secretly a broom or a suspicious moving object.
Once I realize you are kind and safe, I come out of my shell pretty quickly, especially if you have treats. Snacks are basically my love language. A few good treats and suddenly I am your best friend, emotional support giant, and personal shadow all rolled into one.
I am a very sweet boy who loves affection from my people. I enjoy leaning in for pets, hanging out close by, and being part of whatever is going on. I may be large, but I have a very soft heart and I am happiest when I am near my humans. I also enjoy going on walks and adventures, taking in the world at a steady, thoughtful pace while I sniff everything that might possibly be important.
I do well with other dogs and enjoy their company. As for cats, I have lived with a cat before and did well. I would do best with kids over the age of 6 who understand that I may need a little space when I am first adjusting or feeling unsure.
Once I settle in, I am affectionate, goofy, and deeply loyal, but I appreciate people who let me warm up at my own pace. So if all of this sounds amazing to you, please come and meet me!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Hi, I’m Duke! They say age slows you down, but I clearly missed that memo. The one who looks like he should be taking naps all day but instead is still out here living life like every walk could turn into an adventure.
I’m a 9 year old, 61 lb gentleman with a heart full of sweetness and a very questionable understanding of the word “slow down.” I love people, I love affection, and I fully believe pets should be a full-time job for anyone within reach of my face.
Don’t let the number fool you. I am still very much an active boy. Walks, exploring, hanging out with my people, I am in. I’ve got senior status on paper, but in my soul I am still running the show like a much younger Duke.
One of my favorite things in life is other dogs. I really enjoy their company and love to play when I get the chance. I’ve still got that social spark and I’m happiest when I can be part of the action with a dog friend who enjoys a good time too.
Now, I do need to be honest about one thing. Cats and I are not a good match. I tend to want to chase them, and they are not big fans of my enthusiasm, so a cat-free home is best for everyone involved.
As for kids, I would do best with children 7 and older who understand that I sometimes need space and calm moments. I’m sweet, but I also appreciate respect for my boundaries when I’m taking it easy.
Even though I’m 9, I’m really just looking for a home where I can enjoy life, go on my little adventures, and then come back and relax. A soft bed, some love, and a family to call my own would be my dream setup!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Some dogs find their way to the sanctuary through owner surrenders. Some arrive through shelters. Echo’s story is a little different.
One day, Lee Asher and Sara were driving home when they spotted a dog standing in the middle of the road. That dog was Echo. She had been abandoned near the sanctuary and left to fend for herself. Thankfully, her story didn’t end there.
Echo is a stunning 1-year-old purebred German Shepherd weighing approximately 65 pounds. Since arriving at the sanctuary, she has blossomed into a confident, playful, and incredibly intelligent young dog who is ready to find a family of her own.
Like many young German Shepherds, Echo is full of energy and enthusiasm. She loves to run, play, learn, and be involved in whatever her people are doing. She is eager to please and clearly has had some training in the past. Echo has excellent recall, knows several commands, and is always excited to learn something new.
She can be a rough-and-rowdy player and does best with medium to large dogs who can match her energy and play style. Because of her prey drive and enthusiasm, she is not a fit for homes with small dogs or cats.
One of Echo’s best qualities is her willingness to learn. She responds well to correction from both people and other dogs and shows all the signs of a dog who wants guidance and structure. With continued training, consistency, and patience, Echo has the potential to become an absolutely incredible companion.
Echo is looking for an active home that understands the needs of a young German Shepherd. She needs physical exercise, mental stimulation, and a family committed to helping her continue growing into the amazing dog she is becoming. Most of all, she needs people who won’t give up on her simply because she’s young, energetic, and still learning. Echo would do best with kids over the age of 11 due to her play style and energy.
For the German Shepherd lovers out there, Echo is truly something special. She is smart, loyal, affectionate, and full of potential. All she needs now is someone willing to invest the time and love she deserves.
Echo's adoption fee is $295 and she is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
If you’re ready for a devoted best friend and adventure partner, apply to meet Echo today.
Greetings. My name is Edmund. Yes, Edmund. It sounds like I should own a castle, write important letters with a feather quill, and host very serious meetings about kingdom affairs. Unfortunately, my current responsibilities mostly include collecting pets, stealing couch space, and convincing people to tell me how handsome I am.
I am a 2 year old, 43 lb. Pit Bull Terrier mix with a heart full of love and absolutely no understanding of personal space when it comes to my favorite humans. If you're sitting down, I will likely assume you've done so specifically to pet me. It's only polite.
I love adventures, exploring new places, sniffing important things, and spending time with my people. Normally, I'd be ready to charge into life like Sir Edmund the Brave, but there's one tiny plot twist in my story: I'm currently heartworm positive.
That means my royal physicians have ordered me to take life a little slower for the next month or so. I've completed all of my medical treatments so just need a patient family who will help me take it easy for a bit as I complete the final weeks of my recovery. For now, my adventures need to be more "gentle stroll through the kingdom" and less "epic quest across the countryside." Once I'm cleared soon I'll be ready to continue writing my legendary tale!
When it comes to other dogs, I do best with respectful canine citizens who understand that sometimes a noble gentleman requires a little personal space. I enjoy having dog friends, but I appreciate those who can read the room and aren't constantly in my business. I'm a little too interested in cats so a home without them is probably best for me.
For children, I'd do best with kids over the age of 8 who understand that even handsome princes need breaks sometimes. Giving me space when I ask for it helps everyone live happily ever after.
I'm also looking for a family willing to continue positive reinforcement training. The truth is, I'm a smart guy who genuinely wants to learn. Treats, praise, encouragement, and clear communication make a lot more sense to me than harsh corrections ever could. With consistency and guidance, I know I'll continue becoming the best version of myself.
So if you're searching for a loyal sidekick, a professional cuddle consultant, an aspiring adventurer, and a distinguished gentleman named Edmund, I believe our kingdoms may be ready for an alliance!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Finley has entered the chat, and yes, the energy just went up about 100 percent! I’m a 2 year old, 73 lb. Husky/Retriever mix, which basically means I run on good vibes, big feelings, and a deep love for adventure. I’m a super sweet guy who absolutely loves people. If you’ve got hands, I’ve got a plan for them, and that plan is nonstop pets. Being close to my people is kind of my favorite thing ever.
I’m an active boy who’s always ready to go. Walks, hikes, exploring, running like the wind for no reason at all, I’m in. If you’re someone who enjoys getting outside and actually doing things, I will be your most excited partner every single time.
I do great with other dogs and would happily hang out with a canine sibling. I’ve also lived with cats and got along great with them. I’d do best with kids 7 and up who understand that even a fun-loving guy like me needs space sometimes. Give me that respect, and I’ll give you all the love, laughs, and loyalty I’ve got.
Now, I do come with a special feature. I can jump fences. Not just a little hop, I’m talking impressive, Olympic-level confidence. So I’ll need a home with a very tall, secure fence or a family that keeps a close eye on me outside.
If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, adventure-loving dog who will keep life exciting and your heart very full, I’m Finley, and I’m ready to be your new best friend!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Meet me, Gus — 71 pounds of scruffy charm, big feelings, and undeniable character 🐾
I’m about 4 years old, a German Shepherd/Airedale Terrier–type guy with a wiry coat and a personality that’s… well, a little human. Give me a few minutes and you’ll see — I think, I feel, and I definitely know who my people are.
Once you’re in my circle, I’m incredibly affectionate and loyal. I bond hard and love even harder. But I’m not the “strangers are instantly my best friend” type. New people can make me uneasy, and I might bark at first to let you know I’m unsure. With patience, respect, and a proper introduction, I warm up and show my sweet, goofy side.
I’m smart (like… scary smart), housebroken, kennel trained, and I know my basic commands. I do best with structure and someone who understands I’m a sensitive guy — grabbing my collar, tugging my tail, or pushing my boundaries won’t go over well. I appreciate clear communication and mutual respect.
A few “Gus-isms” about me:
• Walks? Yes. Leash manners? Still working on it — I can be reactive.
• Dog friends? Yes, with proper introductions! I like to play, but I prefer smaller social circles over chaotic dog parks.
• Sharing? Not really my thing — I prefer my food, toys, bed, and my person’s attention to be mine.
• Cats? Hard pass.
I’m looking for a calm, experienced home that understands dogs like me — loyal, protective, a little quirky, and completely worth it. In the right home, I’ll be your shadow, your protector, and your most devoted companion.
If you’ve ever wanted a dog who feels more like a thoughtful, slightly opinionated roommate… I might just be your guy.
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Yeah, it’s me. Hammy. The name is cute, the vibe is questionable, and the energy level lands somewhere between “gentle giant” and “professional backyard tornado.”
I’m a 1.5-year-old Old English Sheepdog mix weighing in at a solid 79 lbs. of fluff and enthusiasm. I am very active, very energetic, and very committed to making every day feel like an event. If there is movement, I am involved. If there is excitement, I am leading it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am also a very sweet boy. I love people, I love attention, and one of my absolute favorite things in the world is water. Puddles, hoses, tubs, anything wet, I am there. If it involves splashing, I consider it my personal invitation.
I am currently in a training program because, let’s be honest, I’ve got big feelings and even bigger energy. I love learning, I try hard, and I actually enjoy having a job to do. I just sometimes forget that I am built like a fluffy wrecking ball with opinions.
I also really enjoy other dogs. I like being social and playing. I do best with dogs who can match my energy and understand my play style. A calm, delicate friend might not fully appreciate my “zoom first, think later” approach to life. Cats are unknown territory for me, but I can be cat tested if my potential home has a cat. I am still working on my manners and impulse control when I meet people for the first time but I'm working on it and getting better each day.
Because of my size and enthusiasm, I would do best in a home with adults and kids over 11. While little kids might think I’m fun I am a lot of dog, and I need people who are ready for my level of energy and training needs.
At the end of the day, I am a big-hearted, high-energy, water-loving goofball who is still learning how to channel all of this into the best version of myself. With the right person, I am going to be loyal, hilarious, and a whole lot of fun!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
King is a stunning 8-year-old, 100 lb. purebred Akita who is ready to spend his golden years in a calm, loving home. True to his breed, King is stoic, deeply loyal, and beautifully balanced—independent yet affectionate in all the right ways.
He enjoys peaceful walks, quiet moments, and soaking up love through ear scratches and gentle neck massages. King has a grounding presence about him—the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention, but whose companionship means everything.
King’s journey hasn’t been easy. He was found as a stray in Missouri before making his way to The Asher House Sanctuary, where he’s finally getting the care he deserves. He is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm. The good news is that his treatment is very manageable—it simply requires a calm environment through the end of May where he can rest and keep his activity level low. By June he should be able to resume normal activity levels!
King is ready to receive the same love and loyalty that he gives so freely. While he may be entering his senior years, he still has plenty of life, heart, and companionship to offer. His soul is gentle, steady, and incredibly special.
His ideal home would be a family with breed experience that has children over 11 and offers him a calm, stable environment. He would likely do well with most dogs with a proper introduction, and we don't recommend that he live with cats.
King is more than just a beautiful dog—he’s a loyal companion waiting for someone who understands and appreciates the quiet depth of who he is.
If you’re looking for a devoted best friend to share peaceful days and meaningful moments, King may be your perfect match.
His adoption fee is $295 and he's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Hi, I'm Lake! Some dogs rush in like waves, I prefer to settle in like calm water that just feels right. I’m an 8.5 year old Labrador Retriever mix, and I’ve reached that very important stage of life where I enjoy two things equally, going on adventures and immediately following them up with a very serious nap. Balance is everything.
I’m a very sweet guy who loves people. Affection is one of my favorite things, and I’m happiest when I’m near my humans, just hanging out and soaking up the good moments in life. I’ve learned that the best days are the simple ones, the walks, the company, and the quiet time together after. Don’t let my age fool you though. I still enjoy getting out and exploring in my own steady, thoughtful way.
When it comes to other dogs, I can be a bit selective with my friendships. I know what I like and prefer calm, respectful interactions. But, at this point in my life, I would really love to be the only pet in the home so I can fully enjoy my space, my people, and my well-earned peace.
I would do best in a home without cats and as far as kid, I’d do best with those 7 and older who understand that I appreciate a gentle approach and sometimes just need a little space to relax. I’m very sweet, I just like things calm and predictable as I enjoy my golden years in style.
I’m a loyal, loving companion who is looking for a home where I can settle in, be close to my people, and enjoy life at a peaceful pace. Think of me as your personal reminder that the best lakes are the ones you can sit beside and just breathe for a while!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Meet Mambo! You know how a good mambo isn’t rushed, it’s all about timing, rhythm, and feeling things out first? That’s me. I’m not the guy who runs straight onto the dance floor. I’m the one watching from the side, getting the vibe, and then once I’m ready, I’ve got some pretty great moves!
I’m a 6 year old, 63 lb. husky mix with a soft heart and a thoughtful approach to life. New people can make me a little nervous at first, so I like to take my time getting to know you. But if you’re patient with me and let me come around on my own terms, I turn into a very sweet, affectionate guy who loves being close to his people. I’m talking cuddles, lounging, and just enjoying the comfort of being together.
With other dogs, I’m kind of a “read the room” type. If another dog comes in calm and respectful, I’m happy to engage and hang out. If they come in hot and reactive, I’m going to politely decline that interaction. Energy matters to me and I do best with gentle canine companions.
As for cats, well, I did spend some time in a foster home with bunnies, and let’s just say I was a little too interested in them. Because of that, a no-cat home is probably the best choice for me. For kids, I’d do best in a home with teens 15 and older who understand that I need space at first and can respect my boundaries while I get comfortable. I’m not difficult, I just appreciate people who let me settle in at my own pace.
What you’ll find with me is a dog who may take a little time in the beginning but gives you something really special once that trust is there. I’m gentle, loyal, and deeply connected to my people, and I truly enjoy just being by your side. If you’re willing to go at my pace and let me open up, I’ll be right there with you, ready to share all the quiet moments and adventures life has to offer!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Meet Mocca! If you’re looking for something mild and low-energy, I am not your cup of coffee. I’m more like a double shot Mocca with a whole lot of personality mixed in. Smooth when I need to be, bold when I want to be, and always keeping life interesting.
I’m a 6.5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix at 54 lbs, and I’ve come a long way to become the girl I am today. When I first arrived from the shelter, I had some big feelings and didn’t always know how to handle them. But since joining The Asher House behavior training program, I’ve put in the work and made some serious progress. I’ve learned how to regulate myself. Growth looks good on me!
Now, I’m an active, fun-loving girl who thrives when I’m with my people. I love being close to you. Whether we’re out doing something exciting or just hanging out, I’m happiest when I’m part of your world. I’ve got energy to burn and would do best with a family that understands dogs like me and can continue guiding me so I keep shining.
When it comes to other dogs, I prefer the calm and respectful type. I’m not looking for chaos, I’m looking for good vibes only. A mellow dog who understands personal space is my kind of friend. Cats are a hard no for me. We’ve discussed it, and I’ve decided it’s not the lifestyle I want.
For kids, I’d do best in a home with children 10 and older who understand that I sometimes need space and can respect my boundaries. I’m a sweet girl, I just appreciate a little understanding.
What matters most to me is finding someone who understands that I’m a work-in-progress success story with a whole lot of love to give. I’ve grown so much, I love my people deeply, and I’m ready for a home where I can keep being my best self right alongside you!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Hi, I'm Monica, like that friend who would absolutely ignore your text for three business months. I’m a 5-year-old terrier mix at just 15 lbs. who is quietly learning that the world might not be as scary as it first seemed.
I am what you would call a very shy girl with a very big story. I came from a hoarding situation where I had very little contact with humans, so right now I am still figuring out what it means to be safe, seen, and understood. People can feel a little scary to me, and I need time. A lot of time. The kind of time that cannot be rushed, scheduled, or sped up.
What I need most is a person who understands that trust is not instant for me. It is built slowly, in quiet moments, with patience and consistency. I am not the kind of dog who will run into your arms on day one. I am the kind who learns, little by little, that your presence is safe, your voice is kind, and your space is predictable.
With other dogs, I do okay. I would likely do best with a calm, confident medium or large male dog who can help show me the ropes, but I would also be perfectly okay being the only dog in the home, where I can take my time and settle at my own pace.
Cats are still an unknown part of my story, as I have not had the chance to learn about them yet. I would do best in an adult only home or with kids over 15 who understand that I need space, patience, and calm energy. Most importantly, I need people who understand that even though I am small, I am still a full-sized soul with feelings, boundaries, and a need to feel safe.
I should not be picked up whenever someone feels like it. I deserve the same respect and consent that any larger dog would receive.
Right now, I am not looking for fast love. I am looking for patient love. The kind that waits, listens, and lets me decide when I am ready. And when I am, I will quietly show you just how special Monica can be!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts adventure buddy, cuddle bug, and lovable troublemaker, Mystic might just be your perfect match.
Mystic is a 1-year-old, 58 lb. German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois mix. She’s incredibly loving, fiercely loyal, and full of life. Whether she’s splashing through water, zooming around the yard, or sneaking your favorite item off the counter just because she can, Mystic approaches every day with enthusiasm and joy.
She is the kind of dog who lives life at full speed. Her energy is contagious, her personality is larger than life, and her happiness has a way of making everyone around her smile. While some may see her wild side as something to manage, we see it as one of the things that makes her so special.
Mystic absolutely loves other dogs and thrives in canine company. She has a rough-and-rowdy play style and would do best with medium to large dogs who can keep up with her energy. We have not observed any aggression toward people or other dogs while she’s been with us—she simply loves to play, wrestle, run, and have fun.
She would do best in a home without cats. Mystic previously lived with cats but eventually had an altercation due to her rough play style, and we want to set her up for success moving forward.
Mystic does well with children and enjoys being around people, but because she gets excited and tends to jump up for kisses and attention, we believe she’d be the best fit for a home with kids ages 11 and older.
This girl is looking for an active, experienced adopter who understands working breeds and, ideally, has experience with German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, or Wolf Hybrids. She would make an incredible hiking partner, running companion, or outdoor adventure buddy. Physical exercise is important for Mystic, but so is mental stimulation. She’s intelligent, driven, and happiest when she has a job to do and room to explore.
Mystic is not a beginner dog. She will require patience, consistency, training, and someone who appreciates her unique personality. In return, you’ll get a deeply devoted companion who will love you with her whole heart and make every day a little more exciting.
If you’re ready for the challenge, the adventure, and the unconditional love that comes with a dog like Mystic, she is ready to find the forever home she deserves.
Mystic's adoption fee is $295 and she is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Otis is a Saint Bernard with the heart of both a playful puppy and a gentle lion. He’s a big, strong, and powerful dog who is full of life, love, and personality.
Otis is incredibly playful and energetic—he loves to learn, go on adventures, and then settle in for some good snuggles. Like many St. Bernards, he can be a bit stubborn, but that’s all part of his charm. With the right guidance and leadership, Otis has the potential to be an absolutely incredible companion.
He is currently working on his leash skills and resource guarding around food, and he’s already making progress. Otis has joined several pack walks and does well with many dogs, but he can be selective. Because of this, he would thrive best as the only dog in the home. That said, if you already have a dog and feel a connection with Otis, a proper introduction is essential.
Otis came to us from Tacoma Humane after being surrendered due to resource guarding and a scuffle with another dog. Since arriving, he’s made great strides—he came in severely underweight and has already gained 10 pounds, with a bit more to go. He’s on a great path and just needs someone committed to continuing that journey with him.
Otis would do best in a home with no small dogs, no cats, and no children under 11. He needs an owner who understands large breeds and is ready to invest time into his training, structure, and continued growth.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, larger-than-life companion and you’re ready to lead him with love and consistency, Otis might just be your dream dog!
His adoption fee is $295 and he is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Like the fruit, I might not be everyone's first pick off the shelf, but those who know me understand I'm a hidden gem worth waiting for.
I'm an 8 year old, 34 lb. Terrier/Shepherd Mix who has learned that there's no need to rush into anything, especially friendships. When I meet new people, I like to take my time and make sure you're good company before I fully open up. Once I decide you're one of my people, you'll discover that I'm actually a very affectionate girl.
I love spending time with my favorite humans, getting pets, and finding the coziest spot in the house for a nap. At this point in my life, comfort is a top priority, and I take my relaxation very seriously.
I do well with other dogs, but I'd much rather hang out with calm, respectful friends than the life of the party. If your dog enjoys peaceful walks, quiet naps, and minding their own business, we'll probably get along just fine.
As for cats, your guess is as good as mine. We haven't had the opportunity to cat test yet but definitely can if my future home has any cats!
I'd do best in a home with children over the age of 7 who understand that sometimes a girl just needs a little space while she settles in. If you give me patience and let me warm up on my own terms, I'll reward you with loyalty, companionship, and plenty of sweet moments.
If you're looking for a best friend who enjoys the finer things in life, like comfy beds, peaceful afternoons, and quality time with her people, I think we should meet!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Hi, I’m Shelly, a 3 year old, 50 lb. Akita, American Pit Bull Terrier Mix and I'm a sweet and active girl with a big personality, a love for adventure, and a serious appreciation for attention from my humans. I may take a little time to settle into new situations and get fully comfortable, but I’m confident, social, and curious as I get to know my environment and the people in it.
Once I’m in my groove, my affectionate side really shines. I love being with my people, getting attention, and sharing space with those I trust. I’m the kind of dog who enjoys being part of the action, whether that’s hanging out with you or heading out for a walk or adventure.
I do well with other dogs as long as they respect my space and play style. I enjoy social time, but I also appreciate polite boundaries and calm interactions. I am not a match for homes with cats. I do resource guard around my food with people, so I need a home that understands structure and management during mealtimes. Because of this, I would do best with children 12 and up who can respect my space and understand that I need to be left alone when I am eating. Clear boundaries help me succeed and feel secure.
What I’m really looking for is a home that matches my energy, appreciates my affectionate side, and understands that I do best with clear boundaries and consistency. I’m active, loving, and full-of-personality and am ready to share adventures, connection, and a whole lot of heart with the right family!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Taz, proof that even the smallest whirlwind can be full of the softest love, because while my name might sound like chaos, I’m really just a sweet little guy who loves being close to his people!
I’m a 3 year old Shih Tzu mix, 15 lbs. and my favorite thing in the world is affection. I truly love being with my humans, whether that’s cuddling, following you around, or just sitting nearby so I can feel close to you. Being part of your world is where I feel happiest.
I enjoy going out on adventures when needed. Walks, fresh air, and exploring are all fun, but I’m just as content relaxing at home and soaking up time with my people. I’m an easygoing little guy who simply wants to be where you are. I do great with small dogs, cats, and children of all ages!
I also want to share that I am heartworm positive, so I’ll need a family who is committed to continuing the last half of my treatment which includes a few more vet visits as a lot of rest and relaxation. I’m already on the path to feeling better and just need someone to help me get there.
In all, I’m just a loving, gentle little dog who just wants a safe, cozy home and someone to share all my affection with. If you’re looking for a sweet companion to be by your side, I’m right here!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Tiger is a stunning 2-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd with a big personality, a bigger heart, and absolutely no idea that he’s no longer a puppy.
At around 60 pounds, Tiger is larger than your average Australian Shepherd, but don’t tell him that. He still believes he’s lap-sized and would happily climb into your lap during a car ride if given the chance. His enthusiasm for life is impossible to miss, and he approaches every day with excitement, curiosity, and boundless energy.
Tiger is an affectionate, loving boy who is looking for an active family that understands the needs of working breeds. Australian Shepherds were bred to have a job, and Tiger is no exception. He thrives when he has both physical exercise and mental stimulation, and he’ll need a home committed to helping him channel his energy in positive ways through training, enrichment, and adventure.
Like many young Aussies, Tiger is still working on his manners and learning how to be his best self. He’s eager to learn and would love an adopter who enjoys training and wants a dog to grow alongside. Whether it’s hiking, running, agility, learning tricks, or simply being your constant sidekick, Tiger is ready to be involved in whatever life throws your way.
Tiger does well with other dogs and would be happiest in a home with medium to large canine companions who can match his size and play style. He is not a fit for a home with cats and can be in a home with kids 11 and up.
If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy, a dog who will keep you active, make you laugh, and love you with his whole heart, Tiger may be the perfect addition to your family.
Toby is a 1 year old, 43 lb. German Shepherd/Basenji mix with so much potential and so much love to give.
This sweet boy is loyal, smart, and ready to grow into the incredible dog he was always meant to be. Toby came to us from a high-kill shelter where he was on the euthanasia list, and now he has a second chance at life—and he deserves someone who will help him feel safe, confident, and loved.
Toby can be a little skittish when meeting new people or new dogs, but once he realizes he is safe, his heart opens up completely. Underneath that shy exterior is an affectionate, loving, deeply loyal dog who wants to bond with his person and learn about the world at his own pace.
Because he is still young, Toby will thrive with someone who is committed to training, patience, structure, and daily exercise. He is intelligent and eager to learn, and with the right guidance, he has everything it takes to become an amazing lifelong companion.
Toby would do best in a calmer, lower-energy home with kids 11 and up. He may do well with medium to large dogs after proper introductions, but he would not be a good fit for a home with cats.
Toby doesn’t need perfection. He needs patience. He needs love. He needs someone who sees the brave, beautiful dog inside him and is willing to help him grow.
Toby's adoption fee is $295 and he is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
If you’re ready to give Toby the time, training, and love he deserves, apply to meet him today.
They call me Trip, which feels fitting because life with me is basically a mix of “let’s go explore something” and “okay, now let’s immediately go lay down and rethink our choices in a cozy spot.”
I’m a 1.5 year old Belgian Malinois mix, 68 lbs., and I am also a tripod. That just means I’ve learned how to move through life a little differently, but it doesn’t slow down my heart, my personality, or my love for my people one bit. I may look like I should be scaling mountains, but I also very much enjoy quality time right next to someone I trust.
I’m a sweet boy at heart. I really love affection, I love being close to my humans, and I bond deeply once I feel comfortable. I can be energetic and active when it’s time to get out and do things, but I’m just as happy settling in and relaxing by your side like I’ve always belonged there. Balance is kind of my thing.
I do best with calm dogs who understand personal space. I’m not looking for chaos or pushy energy, just peaceful coexistence with friends who respect my vibe.
Cats are still unknown for me, so a cat-free home is probably the safest and easiest setup while I continue to shine in other areas.
For kids, I would do great with children 4 and older. I’m gentle and sweet with people.
What I’m really hoping for is a home that sees me fully, not just for how I move through the world, but for who I am in it. A place where I can settle in, trust my people, and finally be the loyal, loving companion I’ve always been ready to be!
My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Meeko knows basic commands, is housetrained and kennel-trained, and is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He loves adventure, playtime, and being close to his people.
His ideal home includes:
A secure 6-foot fenced yard with room to run
Experienced dog owners who can provide structure and leadership
Older kids comfortable around large dogs
Slow introductions to other dogs
Meeko can be vocal and would do best outside of apartment or city living. He’s not currently a fit for homes with cats.
If you’re looking for a loving, active companion and have experience with large breeds, Meeko may be your perfect match. 🐾
Meet Alex
A gentle, joyful soul with a big heart — and a condition that simply asks for a little extra love.
Alex was diagnosed with persistent right aortic arch, which caused megaesophagus. What that means in real life is beautifully simple: Alex eats his meals elevated, his kibble is soaked in advance, and he thrives. That’s it. No pain. No limitation. No sadness.
He runs, plays, cuddles, loves, and lives fully.
This condition does not affect his lifestyle, spirit, or happiness — it just requires a mindful routine and a human who’s willing to meet him with patience and care.
Surgery is an option, but Alex has already shown that he can live a full, happy life exactly as he is. He’s playful, affectionate, and endlessly sweet — the kind of dog who looks at you like you’re his whole world.
Alex doesn’t need a perfect home.
He needs a kind one.
A home that sees past a diagnosis and straight into his soul.
If you’ve ever believed that love is about adapting, showing up, and choosing compassion — Alex is waiting for you.
If you can provide elevated feeding and a thoughtful routine, you can change this dog’s entire life.
Meet Bella — The One Still Waiting 🐾💛
Bella has been to the events. She’s been posted online. She’s watched other dogs get picked… and she’s still here.
She doesn’t have the fluffy coat or the “perfect” look. She’s a little goofy, a little unsure, and very shy at first — the kind of dog who stands quietly in the background hoping someone will notice her anyway.
But here’s what Bella does have:
A soft heart.
A gentle soul.
And an overwhelming love for cuddling on the couch once she feels safe.
Bella is about 1 year old, a Pointer/Beagle mix, and she just wants someone patient — someone who understands that confidence grows with kindness. With time, love, and reassurance, Bella opens up beautifully. She’s already learning to be brave, and when she is, she surprises everyone.
She loves running at the beach, feeling the wind on her face, and being reminded that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.
Bella doesn’t need perfection.
She doesn’t need a spotlight.
She just needs one person to choose her — to see past the surface and love her for exactly who she is.
If you’re the kind of person who believes the quiet ones deserve a chance…Bella is waiting for you. 💛
